Pick the B-RAD base by how far your bottle needs to move
A Wolf Tooth B-RAD base bolts onto your frame's standard bottle cage mounts and gives you a slotted rail, so you can slide the cage up or down to where it actually fits. The 2-slot base moves a cage up to 54mm, the 3-slot up to 118mm, and the 4-slot up to 201mm. Pick the smallest base that gets your bottle where you need it.
B-RAD stands for Bottle Relocation and Accessory Device. The problem it solves is simple: your frame maker put the bottle bosses in one spot, and that spot does not always work. A rear shock sits in the way of the bottle. A frame bag blocks the top of the cage. There is room for a tool strap under the bottle, but only if the bottle moves up a few centimeters.
Which B-RAD base size do I need?
Work out how far you need to move the cage, and in which direction, then pick the base that covers it. Wolf Tooth lists each base by the maximum distance it can shift a cage.
The smallest and lightest base, at 27g. Enough to nudge a bottle clear of a shock or a bag, or to free up space below the cage.
41g with four threaded holes, so a cage and an accessory mount can share it. Wolf Tooth includes a foam pad and a zip tie for it.
75g with nine threaded holes. Long enough for two bottles on a long down tube with Wolf Tooth's Double Bottle Adapter.
Not sure it will fit your tube? Wolf Tooth has a printable template of all three bases at full size. Cut them out and hold them against your frame before you buy.

A B-RAD base like the 3-slot shown here bolts to the two bottle cage mounts on your frame. Your cage then bolts to the base's own threaded holes instead, so you can put it higher or lower on the tube than the frame's mounts allow.
What else can go on a B-RAD base?
A bottle cage is only the start. Wolf Tooth makes accessories that bolt to the same bases, including a strap mount for a tube or tool roll, a Double Bottle Adapter for two bottles on one base, a Half Bottle Adapter, and a pump bag. One setup Wolf Tooth shows is a B-RAD 3 on the seat tube with a bottle on top and a strap mount for a spare tube below it.
Wolf Tooth rates each base for a load of up to 1,700g.
Will a B-RAD base fit my frame?
Probably, if your frame has bottle cage mounts. The bases are made for the standard 64mm spacing between bottle cage bolts, and Wolf Tooth says that covers basically every modern frame. You need at least two standard threaded mounts on the tube.
3 to 4 NmBolt torque for B-RAD bases, which use T25 Torx bolts. Set it with a torque wrench and a T25 bit.
Foam pad + zip tieThe 3-slot and 4-slot bases should be installed with their 6mm foam pad and zip tie, which Wolf Tooth includes. Other mounting methods are not recommended.
Front derailleurOn a seat tube with a front derailleur clamp, the base may need spacers to clear it, like a Problem Solvers Space Out Kit, plus bolts longer by the spacer height.
Curved tubesOn one of its own example bikes, Wolf Tooth used a different bottle adapter instead of a B-RAD 2 because the down tube was curved. Hold the printable template against your tube before you buy.
We carry the Wolf Tooth B-RAD 2 Base Mount and the Wolf Tooth B-RAD 3 Base Mount. Both are 6061-T6 aluminum, made in the USA.
Common questions
What is a Wolf Tooth B-RAD?
B-RAD stands for Bottle Relocation and Accessory Device. It is a slotted aluminum base that bolts to your frame's bottle cage mounts so you can move the cage up or down and add accessory mounts.
Which B-RAD base should I get?
Pick by how far the cage needs to move. The 2-slot base shifts a cage up to 54mm, the 3-slot up to 118mm, and the 4-slot up to 201mm.
Does B-RAD fit my bike?
It fits frames with standard bottle cage mounts spaced 64mm apart, and it needs at least two threaded mounts. A strongly curved tube can be a problem, so check Wolf Tooth's printable template first.
Can I fit two bottles on one tube with B-RAD?
Yes, on a long enough tube. Wolf Tooth's Double Bottle Adapter on a 4-slot base holds two bottles on one down tube.
How tight should B-RAD bolts be?
Wolf Tooth specifies 3 to 4 Nm with a T25 Torx key.
How much weight can a B-RAD base hold?
Wolf Tooth rates each base for up to 1,700g.
Before you order a base

Put your bottle in the cage, then hold it where you wish it sat. Measure from there to where it sits now. That number picks your base. Wolf Tooth's B-RAD system page has the printable template and more setup ideas.
