What is the blade and why does it matter?

The blade is a carbon leaf spring instead of a coil spring. It is lighter, sits flatter for better aerodynamics, and flexes earlier in the release motion, so clipping out feels quicker and more predictable.

Should I choose 8 Nm or 12 Nm?

Both are 53 mm Q Factor. The 8 Nm is Look's pick for riders newer to clipless or riding for leisure, releasing at roughly 4 kg of lateral heel force. The 12 Nm suits a regular road cyclist on sporty rides at roughly 6 kg. If you are between the two, Look advises taking the lower one, since blades swap out in under 30 seconds.

What is the difference between 53 mm and 56 mm Q Factor?

Q Factor is the distance from the crank arm to the center of the pedal, which sets how far apart your feet sit. 53 mm is standard. Choose 56 mm only if a bike fitter has recommended a wider stance, often for hip, knee, or ankle alignment. Note that the 56 mm is offered only with the 12 Nm blade.

What bearings do these use?

Steel. If you want ceramic bearings, that is the KEO Blade Ceramic, which is otherwise the same platform.

Can I change the tension later?

Yes. Blades are sold separately in 8, 12, 16, and 20 Nm and swap in under 30 seconds with one dedicated tool, so you never have to buy a new pedal to change tension.

Do cleats come with them?
