What does the Wahoo KICKR BIKE SHIFT do that a trainer can't?
The Wahoo KICKR BIKE SHIFT is a dedicated indoor smart bike that stays set up and ready, so you can ride without moving your road bike on and off a trainer. A brake and belt drivetrain responds quickly to changes in grade and power. It puts out up to 2,200 watts, measures power to within +/- 1%, and simulates climbs up to 20% and descents down to -15%.
Shifting is virtual and fully programmable. You can set the controls to work like SRAM, Shimano, or Campagnolo shifters, then pick the number of speeds and the cassette tooth count so the gearing matches your outdoor bike. Fit adjusts at five points: stack, reach, setback, saddle height, and frame height. Wahoo's setup app walks you through matching your road or gravel position.
It connects over WiFi, Bluetooth, ANT+, ANT+ FE-C, and Direct Connect. Wahoo lists Zwift, ROUVY, TrainingPeaks, MyWhoosh, and KinoMap as compatible apps. On Zwift you also get an in-game gear display and more button functions. ERG Easy Ramp eases you back into a workout after a pause, and a built-in odometer tracks your total miles. The KICKR BIKE SHIFT fits riders from 5'0" to 6'4" and up to 250 lb. It ships without pedals, so plan to bring your own.
