Why we carry Wahoo

Wahoo built the modern smart trainer category. Then they built the bike computer category modern riders actually want. Then they bought Speedplay and made the best road pedal better. We stock all of it.

Wahoo questions, answered

Is Dialed Cycling Lab an authorized Wahoo dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Wahoo dealer based in Vancouver, WA at 3200 SE 164th Ave, Suite 105. We stock the full Wahoo lineup: KICKR, KICKR CORE 2, KICKR MOVE, and KICKR BIKE SHIFT smart trainers; ELEMNT ACE, ROAM 3, and BOLT 3 bike computers; POWRLINK Zero power pedals; Speedplay ZERO, Comp, and Nano road pedals; TRACKR heart rate monitors; and TRACKR Radar. Warranty claims, Direct Connect setup, and Speedplay cleat tuning all go through us. Call (360) 828-1436 or send us a message.

Where can I buy a Wahoo KICKR near Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR?

Dialed Cycling Lab is the authorized Wahoo dealer for the Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR metro area. We are located at 3200 SE 164th Ave, Suite 105 in Vancouver, about 15 minutes from downtown Portland across the I-205 bridge. We stock KICKR, KICKR CORE 2, KICKR MOVE, and KICKR BIKE SHIFT. Walk-ins welcome, or call (360) 828-1436 to confirm a specific model is in stock before you drive over.

Which Wahoo smart trainer should I buy?

Four honest tiers. KICKR BIKE SHIFT is a full smart bike with auto-shifting and tilt simulation, the choice if you do not want to dedicate a real bike to the trainer. KICKR MOVE is the flagship direct-drive trainer with side-to-side rocking motion that mimics real road feel. KICKR is the standard direct-drive flagship without the rocking motion. KICKR CORE 2 is the value pick most riders actually buy: same direct-drive accuracy, slightly less max power, much lower price. We help spec the right one in about 10 minutes if you tell us your goals and your space.

KICKR CORE vs KICKR MOVE, what is the difference?

KICKR MOVE adds side-to-side movement that simulates how a bike naturally rocks under pedaling effort. It makes long indoor rides noticeably more comfortable and reduces the static feeling that bothers some riders. KICKR CORE 2 is fixed in place with the same direct-drive flywheel and power accuracy. If you ride indoors more than two hours at a time or you struggle with the static feel of a normal trainer, MOVE is worth the upgrade. If you do shorter structured workouts, CORE 2 is the better value.

Is the Wahoo ELEMNT better than the Garmin Edge?

They are the two best bike computer lines made, and the right answer depends on what you value. ELEMNT computers use physical buttons that work in rain and with gloves, have an LED strip for turn-by-turn directions in your peripheral vision, and are designed to be set up from the phone app instead of fiddled with on the device. Garmin Edge has touchscreens, a larger app ecosystem, and tighter integration with Garmin watches and other Garmin sensors. If you want the simplest setup and the most reliable wet-weather operation, ELEMNT. If you live in the Garmin ecosystem already, Edge.

ELEMNT BOLT 3 vs ROAM 3 vs ACE, which one is for me?

BOLT 3 is the small aero computer optimized for race day and clean cockpit setups. ROAM 3 is the larger screen with longer battery life, the go-to for gravel, bikepacking, and all-day rides. ACE is the flagship with the largest screen Wahoo has ever made plus the new wind-aware speed prediction. If you race or run an aero bar, BOLT. If you do gravel and long road rides, ROAM. If you want every feature and the biggest screen, ACE.

Do Speedplay pedals actually have an advantage over Look or Shimano?

Yes, in three specific ways. Speedplay is dual-sided, so you clip in on either side of the pedal without flipping it. The stack height is the lowest of any road pedal, which lowers your saddle position and improves power transfer for some riders. Float is adjustable from 0 to 15 degrees, which matters if you have knee issues or specific fit requirements. The tradeoff is that Speedplay cleats have more moving parts and benefit from regular lubrication. If you have ever had a knee issue on Look or Shimano pedals, Speedplay is worth trying.

What is the difference between Speedplay ZERO, Comp, and Nano?

All three use the same dual-sided pedal body and Speedplay cleat system. ZERO is the standard offering with adjustable float, available in 53mm and 56mm spindle lengths. Comp is the value tier with the same float adjustment but a heavier alloy spindle. Nano is the race tier with a titanium spindle and carbon body, the lightest road pedal Speedplay makes. Most riders should buy ZERO. Riders on a budget should buy Comp. Riders chasing every gram should buy Nano.

Are Wahoo POWRLINK Zero pedals accurate?

Yes. POWRLINK Zero measures power independently on each pedal with a claimed accuracy of +/- 1%, which matches the best dedicated power meter pedals on the market. It also reports left and right balance, cycling dynamics, and pedaling smoothness through ANT+ and Bluetooth simultaneously. The advantage over crank-based power meters is that pedals move between bikes in about 60 seconds. The disadvantage is they only work with Speedplay cleats. If you already ride Speedplay, POWRLINK is the easiest power upgrade you can make.

How does Wahoo TRACKR Radar compare to Garmin Varia?

Both are rear-facing radar units that detect approaching cars and alert you on your bike computer. TRACKR Radar has a longer detection range and a brighter integrated taillight, while Varia has a slightly more mature app ecosystem and a larger user base. Either works with both ELEMNT and Garmin Edge computers. If you ride a Wahoo computer, TRACKR is the cleaner integration. If you ride a Garmin, Varia is. Both are far safer than riding without rear radar, especially on the rural roads around Vancouver and Camas.

Will my Wahoo trainer work with Zwift, TrainerRoad, and Rouvy?

Yes. Every modern KICKR trainer broadcasts power, speed, and cadence over ANT+, ANT+ FE-C, and Bluetooth simultaneously, which means it connects to every major training app including Zwift, TrainerRoad, Rouvy, MyWhoosh, Wahoo SYSTM, and Wahoo RGT. The trainer also receives ERG and SIM mode resistance commands from all of them. The only thing to know is that ERG mode works best on direct-drive trainers like KICKR and KICKR CORE 2, which is what all of them are.

What is KICKR Direct Connect and do I need it?

KICKR Direct Connect is an accessory that lets you plug your KICKR trainer into ethernet for a wired connection to your network. It eliminates Bluetooth and WiFi interference, which causes most dropout issues in Zwift races. You need it if you race competitively on Zwift, if your pain cave has multiple wireless devices competing for bandwidth, or if you have had unexplained drops in race results. You do not need it for casual rides or structured workouts. We carry it in stock.

Do you service Wahoo products in-shop?

Yes. We do KICKR firmware updates, Direct Connect setup, freehub body swaps (XDR, XD, HG), Speedplay cleat installation and tuning, POWRLINK pedal installation and calibration, and ELEMNT setup with custom data screens. Most setups happen while you wait. Bring your bike or the part in, or call (360) 828-1436 to schedule.

Is the KICKR worth the price over budget trainers?

Yes, for three reasons. Power accuracy: KICKR measures within +/- 1%, budget trainers vary by 5 to 10% which makes structured workouts unreliable. Noise: KICKR is one of the quietest trainers made, budget trainers are loud enough to wake the house. Durability: we have customers riding KICKRs from 2017 that are still on the original belt and bearings. Budget trainers tend to develop play or noise inside two years of heavy use. If you ride indoors more than once a week, the math works in KICKR's favor every time.

Do Wahoo products come with a warranty?

Yes. KICKR trainers carry a one year warranty against manufacturer defects, ELEMNT computers carry a one year warranty, and Speedplay pedals carry a two year warranty. If something fails, bring or ship the product to us. We handle warranty claims with Wahoo directly so you do not have to chase support tickets.

Why We Ride It

Why Wahoo earns our PNW recommendation

Pacific Northwest weather makes the case for Wahoo. ELEMNT buttons work in pouring rain when touchscreens fail. KICKR trainers turn six months of dark wet mornings into structured power gains. TRACKR Radar gives you eyes behind you on roads where logging trucks share the lane. We have been running Wahoo gear in Vancouver, Camas, Washougal, and the Columbia Gorge for years. It holds up.

The Technology

What makes Wahoo different

The engineering decisions behind every Wahoo product. Real differences, not marketing.

Direct drive accuracy

KICKR trainers measure power within +/- 1% accuracy. Same standard pros train on. No tire calibration, no wheel slip, no drift.

Take Control buttons

ELEMNT computers use real physical buttons instead of touchscreens that fail in rain. The LED strip on top mirrors turn-by-turn directions in your peripheral vision.

Speedplay dual-sided entry

Clip in on either side of the pedal. The lowest stack height in road pedals, with adjustable float from 0 to 15 degrees. Speedplay invented this, Wahoo refined it.

Direct Connect ethernet

KICKR Direct Connect lets you plug your trainer into ethernet for zero dropouts in Zwift races. No more Bluetooth interference, no more wireless lag.

Wahoo brand story

The Story

Built by cyclists, used by everyone from world tour pros to first-time Zwifters

Wahoo Fitness started in Atlanta in 2009 with a single goal: make cycling tech that actually works. Founder Chip Hawkins, a cyclist and triathlete frustrated with the inability to line up GPS, power, and heart rate data from different sources, built the ANT+ Key for iPhone as Wahoo's first product. The Blue HR and Blue SC Bluetooth sensors followed in 2012. The first KICKR smart trainer in 2013, which could shift resistance over Bluetooth and actually simulate outdoor riding. The ELEMNT bike computer in 2016, designed phone-first with physical buttons that work in rain and an LED strip for turn-by-turn directions in your peripheral vision. Speedplay road pedals joined the family in 2019. Today Wahoo equipment is on the bikes of Tour de France stage winners, in the pain caves of world champion Zwifters, and on the wrists of weekend riders learning their first heart rate zones. The constant: real buttons, honest accuracy, software that updates instead of getting abandoned.
