KICKR v6 and updated thru axle adapter kits come with modified conical lock nuts (upper right). If using a v6, MOVE, new CORE, or this updated adapter kit, please use the shorter conical XDR lock nut provided with the trainer or updated adapter kit, rather than the cylindrical lock nut pictured above (lower left).  If you have a question about if your bike requires an updated adapter kit, see the article on KICKR Bicycle Compatibility.

Required Tools:

• Sprocket remover (AKA chain whip) or chain vice
• 17mm* cone wrench or crescent wrench (adjustable wrench also acceptable)
• Cassette lockring tool (Park Tool FR-5.2 or similar) and matching 1" (25.4 mm) socket wrench (or adjustable wrench)
  
  *KICKR v6 and updated thru axle adapter kits come with lock nuts with 14mm wrench flats, rather than 17mm.
