Does the Wahoo TRACKR Radar Give Cyclists Real Awareness of Traffic Behind Them?

The Wahoo TRACKR Radar is a rear-facing radar that mounts to your seatpost and detects vehicles approaching from behind, sending real-time alerts directly to your Wahoo ELEMNT or Garmin Edge computer. When a vehicle enters the detection zone, your head unit flags it with a visual warning so you know what's coming without having to look over your shoulder. This is especially useful on open roads, during group rides where gaps open up, and on fast descents where you have less time to react. The integrated rear light flashes automatically and brightens when vehicles are detected.

Compatible with Wahoo ELEMNT computers and most current Garmin Edge units via ANT+. Rechargeable via USB. Weather-resistant for year-round use. The TRACKR Radar doesn't replace good situational awareness, but it gives you an extra layer of information when riding in traffic. That's exactly the kind of redundancy that matters on a bike.

How far away does it detect vehicles?

The TRACKR Radar detects approaching vehicles up to approximately 140 meters behind you, giving you advance warning well before they reach your position. Alerts appear on your paired head unit as visual indicators.

Does it work with Garmin Edge computers?

Yes. The TRACKR Radar is compatible with most current Garmin Edge units via ANT+, in addition to the Wahoo ELEMNT lineup. Check Wahoo's compatibility page for the current list of supported devices.

Is the rear light useful on its own?

Yes. The integrated light functions as a standard rear light in addition to the radar function. It automatically brightens when a vehicle is detected, which increases your visibility to the approaching driver at the same moment you are alerted.
