A Masters 55-59 race at the Cx Bike Indy OBRA cyclocross championships that ended in second place, eight seconds behind the winner.

A good start

I got a great start at the OBRA cyclocross championships and ended up in a group of three. We stayed together for four laps.

The woods

After those four laps, we got tangled up in the woods a little bit. The rider in front of me clipped a tree, and I had to grab the brakes to keep from hitting him. That was just enough of a gap for the leader to get away, and I couldn't close it to the finish.

The result

I finished second out of 16 in Masters 55-59, eight seconds behind the winner. Third place was 20 seconds behind me. So close to the championship.

There is a YouTube video of the race, along with my own report, on my YouTube channel.
