A few questions for Chris

How did you get into bike racing?

I put on a bit o' weight to counter the weight of med school, residency, and 2 little uns. I then used the excuse of severe patellofemoral compartment osteoarthritis secondary to multipartite patellae to not do anything about it. My brother and brother-in-laws forced me to get on a bike around 16 years ago and that's all she wrote. Many broken bones later, but much healthier overall, here I am!

What is your favorite race or ride, and why?

I'll always have a sweet spot for Oregon Coast Gravel Epic because it was the 1st time I got to ride with my daughter in the same race.

What rides and races are on your bucket list?

I want to ride in all the national parks.

Pre-race meal or ritual?

2 slices of raisin cinnamon bread with cream cheese, a banana, and coffee.

What is your favorite thing (or things) about the Dialed Cycling Team?
  • The people. It's always, and should always, be about the people.
Are you related to Kylee Hanel?

For the last freakin' time, No! I have no idea who you are talking about!
