The Lake MX242 uses a segmented upper of six independent leather zones, so support is distributed across separate panels rather than one continuous closure path. Each panel wraps the foot on its own, which lets the shoe accommodate bunions, bony prominences, high insteps, and wide forefeet that would cause pressure in a conventional one-piece upper. A heat-moldable heel counter further customizes the heel hold.
